Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sabudana (tapioca pearls)
  • 3 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and grated
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 tbs Roasted peanut powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Dip of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Soak the sabudana in water for 2-3 hours until it becomes soft and translucent.
  2. Boil the potatoes, peel them, and grate them.
  3. In a mixer grinder, blend 2-3 green chillies, coriander leaves, and curry leaves to make a fine paste.
  4. Mix the grated potatoes with the soaked sabudana in a large bowl.
  5. Add the green chilli paste, 2 tsp cumin seeds, and some curry leaves to the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle salt and roasted peanut powder into the mixture. Mix everything well.
  7. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  8. Meanwhile, apply a bit of oil to your palms and shape the mixture into round, flat tikkis.
  9. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the sabudana vadas in the pan and fry until they turn golden brown on both sides.
  10. Remove the vadas from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  11. Serve the sabudana vadas with a dip of your choice, such as mint chutney or yogurt-based dip.
